How do you hand-carve your own wooden gauges?
I am taking a woodcarving class, and I have size 4 gauged ears. I thought It would be cool to make my own gauges. I figures I can trace the size I need from the ones I already have, but what type of wood do I use? Would basswood be safe? Do I seal the wood? and what with? I would apprectiate any instuctions/ideas/ or patterns.
No, I won't get splinters.
