Does anybody know what the heck this is?
SOmebody answered my question about making racecar shaped snacks liek this:
melted chocolate,caramel candies, butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips and marshmallow cream.
melt each ingreds.separately in a double boiler or microwave. first the chocolate, once it's melted place in a bowl. when the chocolate starts to set up (warm to touch) spoon out onto a surface to mold into your car. use Carving Tools like the ones you use to carve out a pumpkin. you could use the other ingredients for the wheels (butterscotch or peanut butter) marshmallow cream mixed with blue food coloring could be used for the windshield & windows by spreading it thinly over chocolate, using a paint brush. sure you'll creative juices can take it from here~
does it sound like playdough made from chocolate? idkwhat this is but i feellike its like modeling clay, can anybody help? the author does not allow contact.
(Sorry in advance for the long post)
That really didn't even make sense.
It wouldn't be playdoh, nothing's being added to make it soft.
She's just telling you to make a giant block of chocolate and carve it?
Gee, that doesn't seem difficult or time consuming at all (sarcasm intended)
And the food color wouldn't show up on the chocolate...
---------------
You could always buy car shaped molds.
Or, at least a car shaped cookie cutter.
Then, you could either make car shaped sugar cookies, or car shaped brownies. Then you could decorate them, and use the mini oreo idea for tires.
White chocolate works well for decorating if you have to transport them because it sets up hard and won't smear like icing does.
----------
OR! You could make cupcakes, and then make little cars out of fondant to put on top of them.
Fondant really is like playdoh that you can eat. It's pretty easy to make, and super easy to mold.
This is the recipe for fondant I use:
Ingredients
* 1/4 cup butter
* 1 (16 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
* 4 tablespoons water
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 pounds confectioners' sugar, divided
Directions
1. Place the butter in a shallow bowl, and set aside.
2. Place the marshmallows in a large microwave-safe bowl, and microwave on High for 30 seconds to 1 minute to start melting the marshmallows. Carefully stir the water and vanilla extract into the hot marshmallows, and stir until the mixture is smooth. Slowly beat in the confectioners' sugar, a cup at a time, until you have a sticky dough. Reserve 1 cup of powdered sugar for kneading. The dough will be very stiff.
3. Rub your hands thoroughly with butter, and begin kneading the sticky dough. As you knead, the dough will become workable and pliable. Turn the dough out onto a working surface dusted with confectioners' sugar and continue kneading until the fondant is smooth and no longer sticky to the touch, 5 to 10 minutes.
4. Form the fondant into a ball, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight. To use, allow the fondant to come to room temperature, and roll it out onto a flat surface dusted with confectioners' sugar.
