Can a "Buffer overrrun" error be caused by lack of drive space?
I am setting up some new software at a company I work for. It's a woodworking company, and when we try to tell the router (cutting tool) to "start" by opening a file of code, we get an error that says "buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state..."
After searching the 'Net for a while, I've seen that hard drive space may be an issue. I remember now that the router's computer only has about 20 gigs of disk space, and that it is almost full. Anyone want to chime in here?
I am going to have to say that this may be caused by the lack of RAM you have. Generally what happens is when you tell the router to start it tells the computer it needs what ever file it needs to cut the product, when it does that, the blueprint or diagram what ever you want to call it does into the RAM for temporary storage, at which point if you do not have enough ram and the file is bigger then what the RAM can hold you will get a buffer overrun. If it is not the ram the program could be simply corrupt and need a new installation, it could be driver issue, and finally the hard drive, I highly doubt it is the hard drive so that would be the last thing to try.
