Can hawk bones regrow?
Yesterday I found a dying hawk on the road that was probably shot by a local farmer... I picked it up to protect it from being roadkill or being eaten by one of the many local coyotes.
The tip of the wing looks really bad were I can see flesh and bone.
Will it ever recuperate to were I can set it free; or at least survive?
Bone cannot regrow, but it can mend if it's just broken (not missing entirely). You need to contact your nearest wildlife rehabilitation hotline to hook you up with a rehabilitator in order to determine the severity of the damage. If it can be mended via splint/cast/surgery and a several months care, than yes it can recover and be released.
Considering the condition it is in now, you should probably contact the nearest possible emergency vet clinic before doing anything else, they can at the very least take the animal off your hands and stabilize it in order to decide where to go next. You do however need to act immediatly.
In the time being, line the bottom of a cat carrier or box with towels, put the bird inside, and cover the carrier with a sheet or something else (so you don't wind up killing it from stress while it's in such bad shape). As soon as you've confirmed a clinic will take a look at it, get it there.
Thanks for your consideration for the hawk, now go, shoo, hurry, act, follow through if it's not already dead, hawks can be tough animals and if it's hanging on now it may well last. If the wing can be mended but the bird cannot be released it may find itself a pampered life raising awareness as an education animal.
*I don't think I have to tell you to be careful of it's talons, you've already moved it once.
