Ivory? From an endangered species.Guess I'm a tree hugger?
I answered a question (for black & white jewelry )and the suggestions were for Ivory? So I have to wonder?Tagua nut is what I heard was a natural alternative.

It's possible that the piece of jewelry in question was made from fossilized Woolly Mammoth Ivory, which is totally legal to collect and trade. Most of it comes from Siberia. It is also possible that the jewelry is antique, which means (at the time) the Elephant or Walrus Ivory was collected legally. Then again, it may be made of bone, could come from any number of legally collected species. Or, as you've suggested, it could be Tagua.
CITIES (Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species) just authorized a huge sale of Elephant Ivory to Japan, but it is the first of its kind in about 20 years.
Yes, you are a tree hugger. And animal hugger, and earth worshipper, and dirt princess. So am I. Enjoy the good company!
